most deeply spiritual structures is more earthbound.
This is its Arkhouse, designed as a house where people
and beasts may encounter each other if not cohabit. It
resembles both an ancient ship and an ancient barn, and
like the Cathedral Fold, it soars. But it is firmly rooted in
earth, in pastures and meadows where deer and cattle
roam and graze.
These two un-built buildings are visionary and religious,
yet the same can be said of Axis Mundi���s actualized
domestic projects, which are stunningly plain without
