It was a great honor to be recognized by the National Audubon Society, by the United Nations Environmental Program
and by the American Institute of Architects for the work that
NYRP and I are doing. But the greatest satisfaction is to think
back to those summer nights performing on Boston Common and realize that several hundred years from now, in similar spaces, the work that we do will provide common ground,
green shaded spaces and flowering beds, for generations of
New Yorkers. Our team will most probably never see the full
flourishing, the full growth of these wonderful spaces, direct
descendants of those old New England commons.
To be part of NYRPs various ambitious programs affirms the
importance of nonprofits and charity by enhancing the green
quality of life of eight million New Yorkers.
The show must go on, and its going to be one helluva green
run! Nature is on our sideso is the human spirit. H
