Still in the realm of metamorphosis, Austin Yang, a product and industrial designer based in Edinburgh, who has created curiously nostalgic turntables and typewriters adapted for use with i-technology, took on the chair, with a glossy red rendition in cast plastic, seamless, legless at the back, undulating and curvaceous as the "Loop de Loop" but more compact. Ross Lovegrove's "Anne" reinterprets a classic, the Queen Anne chair, its name also an homage to Anne Bernhardt, scion of Lovegrove's manufacturer, Bernhardt Design. Made of wood, he describes the chair as having "a legal authority in its scale, crafting and stature."
