a suite of his chairs, the most famous of which is called, of course, The Panton Chair of 1960. It was the first chair, developed by Panton in collaboration with Vitra, to be manufactured completely out of plastic in one single piece, since 1999 made of durable, dyed-through plastic with a lustrous matte finish. Rather than legs, it is a sinuous cantilever— think of Rietveld's "Z" chair—anthropomorphic in shape and slightly flexible. The Panton Chair is stackable for convenience, seductive in shape.
