Behind Heisel's wall and
floor drawing one intuits
the world of recent art
history, especially that of
abstraction. Her bedroom is
rather like a Cy Twombly writ
even larger than that master
could conceive. There is
a whiff, too, of Jackson
Pollock and perhaps Franz
Kline. Like children's book
protagonist Harold, with
his purple crayon, Heisel
has created, expanded and
reimagined her own world
simply by drawing it. H
