Telling of the interest in the sale, bidders hailed from 32 countries, including Russia and Italy, among others. The funds raised will support conservation projects internationally, chosen by a team that includes environmentalists Robert F. Kennedy and Philippe Cousteau, who is the grandson of the famed undersea explorer Jacques Cousteau. Christie's Loic Gouzer aided DiCaprio in approaching the artists represented to donate HYLAND "We are facing a tipping point of environmental crisis unprecedented in human history and our very survival is dependent on protecting nature."
