In a prodigious production of stunning lamps, joined by
a wide range of furniture and accessories, Fontana Arte
assured its position in history via its ever evolving and
innovative contribution to the applied arts. Considering
only the glass furniture which Pietro Chiesa (figure 132),
Max Ingrand (figure 414) and Gio Ponti (figure 184) created,
the course of history was changed, because each of their
groundbreaking designs foreshadowed the buildings that
would eventually be inspired by them, the window walls
that would soar skyward, reaching for the angels.
