A cork-topped dining table by Paul Frankl serves as a
desk in this masculine, inviting cave.
In yet another interior, this one the dining room of a client,
the walls are painted tortoiseshell with a dusting of gold
particles. On them hangs a single Roman relic, a relief
portrait fragment in marble. One feels that the room
has been painstakingly prepared to set off this solitary,
somehow votive work of art, solemn in its beauty.
