clients��� cherished collections of things; it memorializes
a cultivated sensibility which happens to be, as often as
not, sparing with objects, preferring a single seminal one
to an array of indifferent ones. Recall the Art Nouveau
lamp. Assembled collections shine in their placement:
Hermes��� collection of plaster casts is a case in point.
Images in the book are often as memorable for color
schemes as for artifacts. Deep rust red is a MaloneyMallea favorite. Varying shades of beige and other
neutrals prevail, used, it seems, all the more to showcase
objects: darker tones often causing them to recede.
