it were, into the 21st century design fray.
Often saccharine and now limited to the decoration
of candy boxes, in Maloney���s perspective Art Nouveau
is given new interest via his section on Louis Comfort
Tiffany. It is made all the more appealing by his placement
of a Tiffany Studios lamp on a Wiener Werkstatte table,
flanked by Art Deco French armchairs, and an African
stool. Rich, thick mohair draperies serve as a backdrop.
This Art Nouveau object triumphs because Maloney
understands the importance of context and inspired
juxtaposition. He shares this skill and, among others,
shrewd buying and acceptance of artistically diverse
objects in the same space.
