Intellectually and artistically, simple or innovative materials combined with great talent may result in great art: think Alexander Lieberman���s huge sculptures formed by commercial building components (regrettably he is not around to weigh in). Or, even in the realm of products, Dunhill���s post-war highly collectible austerity lighters, made from simple metal with plastic bodies but ingeniously etched and painted within (smoking long discredited, but they have become highly desirable works of art). Ironically, Gehry���s proposal would probably have benefited from a massive central sculptural object, a focal point incorporating elements found in the original plastic sculpture, Alex Lieberman���s work, the details carved within the interior of the Dunhill artifacts and HYLAND
