Grand Army Plaza residence
Perhaps Axis Mundi���s apotheosis is represented by
their proposal for the Whitney Museum���s new location
adjacent the High Line in Chelsea, New York City. Soft
edged Cubism best describes each elevation���s array of
windows. Large internal pathways and ramps provide
a decided contrast to New York���s now familiar iconic,
innovative gallery, the multi-storied circular ramp at the
Guggenheim. The aspect of it all resembles a 21st century
Piranesi print, not unlike a far more cheerful rendering of
the Carceri, Piranesi���s somewhat gloomy rendering of
HYLAND
