During the same visit, I purchased three images of Lacock
Abbey which Scully and Osterman had just completed.
Fascinated by triptychs, I chose them purposely. The
central image is the descendant of what is considered by
many to be the single most famous image of a window
in the history of photography: Fox Talbot���s photograph
of the window above the entrance elevation to Lacock.
The other two images illustrate yet another elevation of
Lacock Abbey from two different perspectives. One is
romantically, nostalgically composed, framed by leaves
at the top, a hedgerow in the foreground, a charming
