In the event, it was an ideal day when I finally arrived. Overcast but with light, we visited the garden, cloister and numerous rooms almost alone. Completely losing track of time, I photographed each chamber, absorbed absolutely in the process of seeing, interpreting and recording the images that the father of the photographic negative intimately knew. I felt transformed as I turned a corner and found the window before me. Apprehending it, I shot it. The window HYLAND
