For those not wishing to leave the best of modernist
urban confines, Christian Liaigres interior design scheme
is literally a modernist moveable feast. Its land-based
design cousins would be at home in Paris, Shanghai,
Mumbai, New York or Berlin. Streamlined and soigne,
these white and cream interiors remind us of Hercule
Poirot chez lui in London, c. 1930, albeit on a scale
meant for a Rothschild.
Twelve guests occupy staterooms, including a massive
master cabin, huge dressing room and heads (nautical
for bathroom). Varying surface textures, employing a
palette of blacks, creams and walnut, create interest.
