hristopher Hyland lives in three worlds and he
is continually making lightning-quick forays within and
between them. I first met him in the summer of 1997 after my
predecessor as director of the Boston Athenæum mentioned
that I would find Christopher to be of 'good value' and that
I should visit his textiles company when I was next in New
York City. I did, we hit it off, and we've been good friends and
partners-in-crime ever since.
