Christopher's showroom in the D&D Building on 3rd Avenue resembles something out of the Arabian Nights, a heady mixture of gorgeous fabrics hanging in every direction punctuated by multi-coloured cords, tassels, cushions, and chairs. A charming team attends upon an even more charming clientele – architects, designers, writers, the women (and men) who lunch – and there, in the middle of the action, is Christopher, impeccably dressed in his bow tie and pin-striped suit, welcoming friends, foraging for the right fabric, and dispensing orders in what remains of his Boston accent. He is in constant motion and in constant communication.
