Babe Ruth September 27, 1921
My first encounter with Graig Kreindler was as a fellow
student in the Fall of 2000 when I made my first cautious
step into Room 603, a painting studio at the School of
Visual Arts in New York City. There I was to embark on
a transformative journey that began with the life painting
class of renowned painter and illustrator, Max Ginsburg.
Max began the semester with a still life project, affording
students the opportunity to shake the summer rust off
of their brushes before delving into the more complex
nuances of the human form. Our subjects were of the
standard still life variety: fruit and draped fabric lay clustered on benches and tables around the room.
