Unlike Cezanne, Beal���s work is not encumbered by tight
angular artistic gestures; he moves in an artistic direction
beyond this great master. He is not confined by the
minutiae of the 19th century German school so influential
in American art in that century. Nor does Beal reenvision
the Abstract Expressionists. His is a new way, attempted
by others but successful in his formation. H
