Marica Mizzi, President Abela & Christopher Hyland.
Abela stressed the importance of the Maltese retaining
their identity, stating, We need to retain the solid and
concrete principles that make us Maltese, adding that
our traditions mean we can be a bridge for faiths. He
emphasized that Malta had an ancient tradition, dating
thousands of years, encompassing numerous faiths
and cultures and that Malta should be, as reported by
Fiona Galea Deono of the Malta Times a triangle of
peace between Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The
Presidents point of view encapsulates the vital role Malta
should increasingly play in what is a massive historic
reorientation in the region.
