schemes, Pippa was presented with a challenge not unlike
that of Mark���s at the White House. Unlike her American
counterpart, who decisively opted for traditional design
language, Pippa sympathetically fused the traditional
with elements that today are considered by many to be
traditional modernism in temperament.
Dominant in the latter trend is a color scheme of silvery
neutrals that is fresh, modern yet in her hands implemented
with a sense of dignity. These beiges, creams, taupes,
silver greys are accented with generous yet reserved and
appropriately applied quantities of gold leaf. They were
achieved through different textures: wallpaper, paint,
