people would give the house Cristina Grajales and Isabelle
Kirschner commissioned Thomas Phifer to design. But it
deserves that nomenclature. It is the twenty first century
descendant of the Greek Revival style, America's first
national architecture.
Although this remarkable—let's just say it like it is—brilliant
residence bears little in common with the outwardly
carpenter-friendly Greco-Roman design elements of
Greek Revival, the ideal position and overall proportions
are inspired by classical antecedents. The keen observer
