to this structure's clear mathematical life. Here, the
columnular life of ancient Greek temples is memorialized
at the narrow end of the house by seven vertical, albeit
delicate, black astragals.
The double height screen porch on one narrow end of the
house and the double height entrance hall at the opposite
end are infused with ancient grandeur, the former and
the latter every bit as compelling as the west temple
porch at the Acropolis. Although so utterly different, the
minimalist staircase reminds me of those found within
HYLAND
