Mali Azima or designer has to have a vision for the space and must also understand that following the architecture of a room is the ONLY answer. Then one must draw it to scale.   Have you ever entered a rectangular living room where the sofa floats in the middle of the room?  The sofa is the same shape as the room. They should have countered the space and have it run perpendicular to the point of interest.  The point of interest should be an architectural feature, such as a fireplace. Ceiling details should follow this same point. Do not invent a new pattern that fights the original architecture.  HYLAND
