captured in this seemingly picturesque scene (one which I find
hauntingly familiar, or is it a composite) a subject which Harvard geologist, Louis Agassiz would have found inspiring. Kinsett, as many of his fellow artists, was multifaceted. He knew
that his subject matter was not merely picturesque but topical. Freedom enabled the diverse worlds of art and science to
mingle, serving the common good.
