Corsino
Corsino, a few blocks away at the corner at Hudson and Horatio
Street reminds me of a ski lodge in the mountains of Cortina- not
that Ive ever been. Its casual vibe and abundant wood paneling is
kept current by its metallic furniture and accents. The meticulous
use of space with service to match invites locals and not-so locals
even when arriving without a reservation. Choosing the right wine
comes easily and I use the small plates as an excuse to double
up on one crostini with ricotta and orange honey and another with
brussels sprouts and pecorino. I then move on to the homemade
fusilli pasta with lemon, scallions, chili and pecorino and if I still have
room I suggest to my tablemates we share a fish or meat dish.
