A
new wave of consultants, clerical staff, Swiss guards, lay church
members, novices, nuns, monks, deacons, priests, arch-priests,
monsignors, bishops, arch-bishops, cardinals and, occasionally, a
Pope arrive in Rome each year as do millions of tourists. Alumni from
among their number, arriving years apart, chose the restaurants listed below. Each has three HYLAND Hs.
Editor in Chief Christopher Hyland has chosen the restaurant on the
top of the Hassler Hotel, located at the top of the Spanish steps, as
his all time favorite restaurant in Rome. Outstanding food, spectacular sunsets highlighting St. Peters dome and years of family memories mark this choice.
Included in the list below are many known and some far less known
restaurants, among them the Abruzzi restaurant, frequented by members of religious orders doing doctoral studies at Catholic universities
throughout Rome, and Del Frate, often visited by archbishops and
cardinals.
