P
ower plants, along with tractors, cranes, fire engines, dump-trucks, motorcycles and Lego creations
fascinate me aesthetically, functionally and conceptually,
though, regrettably, less so operationally.
More to the point: when I discovered that a mass of
ancient, Roman sculpture was on display at Centrale
Montemartini, formerly Romes first electric power plant
and now a new exhibition space for the Musei Capitolini,
I was determined to see the space and the exhibition.
Photographing this museum proved exhilarating. Two
hours passed in a moment.
