Galtarossa and her work are very much at the center of
a vibrant art scene whenever and wherever her work is
exhibited. Among her famous pieces is an ambulatory sculpture, 25 feet high (7.62 meters) comprising two
legs and a waist. Each foot envelopes a strong and agile assistant, slowly propelling this monstrous apparition
forward. Its surface is covered with tens of thousands
of yarns, textiles and sundry materials. During one museum exhibition it was displayed at the center of a vast
enclosed courtyard. From there it moved through the
town and back, a tour de force of performance art.
