chitectural elements, many rediscovered from antiquity
through the books of Sebastiano Serlio. These elements
include precise geometry, symmetry, semi-circular windows, very high groin-vaulted ceilings, an imposing external staircase (13 steps on the garden elevation) and
plain surfaces topped with a rich cornice. The garden
side is sparse while the river elevation is more articulated
with rustication, two small towers and a semi-circular
stair. There is a spectacular view of Palladio���s masterpiece, Villa Rotunda.
In many instances Bedeschi blends the old and the new.
