The kitchen is a seamless mix of modern convenience
and rustic detail, with a polished wooden island stained
olive green surmounted by a rack hung with shining copper pots. Here, too, there is a stone hearth at one end,
complementing the splendid black polished stove at the
other. The floor is planked walnut stenciled, by Kathryn
Jacobus of San Francisco, in a pattern of outsized diamonds, in cream and rust.
In yet another dining area, slim rattan caf�� chairs surround a dark polished table, lit from above by a simple
hanging wrought iron fixture with six lamps.
