famous Angel of the North sculpture.
In a refurbished wing of the castle, award-winning architect
Gareth O���Callaghan of Jack Coughlin Associates has designed
a gallery for Lismore Castle Arts which is directed by Eamonn
Maxwell. He and Lord Burlington have presented exhibitions
of works by Eva Rothschild, Matthew Barney, Dorothy Cross
and Michael Craig-Martin among numerous others. The garden, gallery and castle enthrall the visitor interested in contemporary art. One is exhilarated by both the intellectual depth
of these exhibitions combined with the traditional sporting
pursuits of fishing, golf and of course, teatime.
