This Bay Harbor house and yacht together form an idealized station or waypoint that a great Edwardian yacht
club might have had along the coast from Newport up to
Maine. Their Venetian touches remind us that throughout the Mediterranean, Venetians controlled islands and
sequestered territories for great empires. Here is an empire of a different sort, one bordered by dark rich forests
on the land side���symbolized in the house by the use
of lavish wood paneling���relieved on the other side by
open water, its blue and bright sky echoed by the blue
