Every painted detail in these rooms is crisp, achieved and
articulated enough to deserve an essay, yet the overall effect is of a hazy golden light. Surfaces are heavily
adorned without feeling encrusted.
The living room walls are of a soft wheat color, painted with spacious bands of thin red pinstripes enclosing
slender vines in red and blue. The moldings around the
