The interior of the house is a rich, subtle layering of earthderived materials in a combination of neutral and jewel
colors. There are echoes of Asia in the many-beamed
ceilings, of Frank Lloyd Wright in the harmonious, insistent counterpoint of stone and wood, and of Tuscany in
the carefully framed views of vineyards and hills.
At the core of the house, surrounded by halls, galleries
and sheltered porches is the living room, which features
an unusual tall, coved ceiling clad in rich reddish wood.
Thick, pale stone panels flank a sunroom or patio off
to the side. A spectacular stone hearth, custom made
