Ordinarily one describes a house from the inside out, but in the case of this house the Napa setting and the way it has been incorporated into the natural elements shapes the house and its contents. This spacious one-story house seems to grow out of the surrounding landscape; the building is subordinate to trees, grass, foliage, water. It is sovereign yet unobtrusive. HYLAND
