Dennis Niven and his staff, Leonard Coleman and Mike Rafferty, preparing tea
Luckily, I did not have to raise money to enjoy the Blackwater,
although Suzys friends have all been supportive of her charity
work in Guatemala and elsewhere.
Fishing the Blackwater is in some ways the heart of the matter.
I love it so much. Gazing down from a ducal corner bedroom,
the river far below, stretching down the valley towards the sea,
it beckons you to fish. Once down at the waters edge, misty
rain as a chaser, the castle high above you, the cows grazing the
meadow behind you, you are transported to another century
and you find yourself within a Turner landscapean eternal
landscape.
