In another room, a black basalt fireplace is at the center,
above which hangs a fantasy coat of arms Vartan painted for herself after she was commissioned to paint one
for a French family in Venice. On either side of the painting, hung at a horizontal incline, are two old artist���s easels. The impression is of a studio or workroom simpler
in its decoration than the public areas of the apartment.
In the entrance hall, Vartan has painted a veritable grotto, of trompe l���oeil rocks and pebbles, with the face of
