Accordingly, the Star is constructed for the harmonious flow of family, friends and visitors, its spaces layered
to correspond to varying levels of intimacy in the home.
The stunning central staircase, pictured here from below, is in three parts and serves to divide living spaces
from more private rest areas.
The living room, its floor to ceiling windows looking out
onto a courtyard that in turn gives onto the beach, is
populated by a congenial gathering of assertively modern chairs. The way they are arrangedin an oval
glances backward at the traditional Arab Hajar room, a
place of comfort, community and family.
The other great preoccupation of the architects beside
privacy was creating panoramic views. Both organization and form serve to maximize the inhabitants sight
of the sea. Perhaps this is why the house has no right
angles; every elevation has been drawn to correspond
to a view.
