HYLAND Huniford Design Studio, Living Room This year's summer Holiday House was an unusually fluid moment of design ferment, taking place not in a grand seaside mansion, but in a former industrial space, Sag Harbor's Joseph Fahys & Co.Watchcase factory, a massive brick building in the midst of transition to condominiums. The sixteen designers virtually all created rooms notable for their informality as well as elegance, inspired by the charmed New England maritime atmosphere of the early 18th century village of Sag Harbor, where one may happen upon every kind of building, from the rustic Umbrella House, first occupied by British troops during the Revolutionary War, to the 1840s Thebes-inspired First Presbyterian Church.
