HYLAND Adam Tihany's portfolio serve as substantial proof. There is no question that a mood can be set by the colors, lighting and material that make up a space. The intricate dance between the details of an interior contribute to our personal experience; what we see, smell, and interact with around us. To accomplish a collective experience, however, elevates the design from its original purpose to an iconic plateau. From the famous resurrection of Le Cirque 2000 in the New York Palace Hotel to the interior of the highest restaurant in the world (At.Mosphere in the Burj Khalifa in Dubai), Tihany's iconic design has influenced the experience of hotel guests and diners across the globe. Since the establishment of his firm 35 years ago, Tihany and his team have seen the completion of hundreds of projects. The fifteen featured in his third book, appropriately named Tihany: Iconic Hotel and Restaurant Interiors (Rizzoli) represent a specially curated selection of projects that, according to Tihany, were "chosen because of their originality, timeless qualities and iconic status." True to Rizzoli form, the book, released in March of this year, is an extraordinary visual delicacy.
