with a return to what is elemental to human survival. The Flat Pack Shelter was the spiritual centerpiece of ICFF, the ultimate expression of good design as life-saving necessity rather than luxury. The shelter, eight feet tall and eighteen feet long, is made of a plywood frame covered in a shrink-wrap vinyl membrane for water proofing. As many as twenty-five shelters, flat packed, may fit on the bed of a standard tractor trailer 53 feet in length. When flat packed, the shelters measure University of Cincinnati associate professor Brian Davies and Stephen Slaughter, adjunct professor, with their team. HYLAND
