Inson himself describes the club's interior as Royal Tenenbaums
meets American Psycho—or Blade Runner: "The concept
was to create an environment conducive to entertaining that
felt warm and inviting—flexible enough for a cocktail party for
two hundred or a dinner
party for forty. Fabulous
art, antiques mixed with
various modern pieces
creates an eclectic
downtown environment."
The primary shell Wood
forged to contain this
important art collection
is the opposite of the
white box employed by
so many contemporary
galleries. It is subtly hued
and textured with warm
wall and ceiling colors:
pale amber yellow and
a grey that reminds of
the muted patina of the
old-fashioned plaster
still used in Britain.
Leather poufs in yellow
and crimson add further notes of color, along with the orange
and brown of the Kenyan rug, the rich Roman red of the
curtains, the regal red or green of tole and gilt lampshades.
