hen I consider living in a grand hotel, I think
immediately of Eloise's escapades at the Plaza. But increasingly,
in New York City, other venerable luxury hotels are becoming
places of abode rather than temporary sybaritic sojourn.
The Sherry Netherland, with its delightful views of Central
Park, is one such famous hotel, and who better to appoint a
capacious coop suite there than decorator Geoffrey Bradfield?
The decoration of the entrance hall epitomizes the ingenious
eclecticism of the entire project. Here is a strictly classical
floor—a gray and white marble pattern of diamonds within
