lively concatenation of brushed brass table and standing
lamps surrounding his Machine Age-inspired "Beat Table".
Dixon's designs are notable for their muscularity, almost
a toughness, and the "Beat Table" is no exception. The
lamps, in contrast, evince a botanical delicacy—one
thinks of the botanically structured decorative designs of
avant-garde Victorians Owen Jones and Dr. Christopher
Dresser.
