Hotel Hacienda de Abajo an art historical experience, as
well as a sybaritic sojourn in the sun.
Hacienda de Abajo was the first hotel to be built in Tazacorte
and comprises several sympathetically designed buildings
surrounding the original Main House of Tazacorte, restored
between 2010 and 2012
by architect Maria del
Carmen Aleman Garcia.
A section of two story
balconies, both open
and closed, was added,
with closed parapets
supported by straight
pillars, a hipped Arabic
tile work roof and two
towers, one of them with
magnificent views of the
sea. Many of the doors and
sash windows are from
the 17th, 18th and 19th
centuries, salvaged from
old Canarian buildings.
The rooms are painted in
bright hues, decorated
with antique furniture,
chandeliers and paintings.
You are likely to encounter in your room, not only a
sumptuous canopied bed, but an Old Master portrait or
