wiss-born Brooklyn based furniture designer
and maker Patrick Weder creates mobilier that is sculp-
tural as well as useful, using a broad vocabulary of
materials—resin, wire, sand, paper, gold leaf, Corian,
wood, steel, bronze, stone and concrete—ranging from
weightless to heavy, delicate to dense.
Weder's latest collection includes tables of varying
sizes, from coffee or side table to tall, plinth-like pieces,
composed of thick triangular plages of steel and bronze,
steel and wood, or steel, stacked at skewed angles that
pivot, creating twisting pedestals. The tops are massive
hubcap-like roundels, available in white marble or other
