British ceramics evince beauty in both the industrial milieu, as
in Josiah Wedgwood's wares, decorated often with designs
by John Flaxman, and in that of studio pottery, exemplified
in Kinghams Art Pottery's display of a grotesquely beautiful
stoneware face jug, dated 1903, by the eccentric Martin
Brothers. A contemporary studio work, equally stunning and
reminiscent of the same period is entitled Rainbow Luster
At Haggerty Ceramics is
a foot-wide work entitled
Rainbow Luster Bowl,
crafted by James and Linda
Haggerty, proprietors of the
Santa Barbara-based kiln.
