A
n assertively modern house demands an interior
disciplined yet comfortable, and that is what designer Alan
Tanksley has created for this boldly geometric country house.
Ingeniously, Tanksley has planted mid-century classics in
these rooms, which accentuate and mirror the streamlined
contours of the architecture. Unlike many a modernist
house, this one does not feature large expanses of glass;
rather, its windows are slender, oblong and inward looking.
And indeed, there is an introspective quality to the interior.
It is, paradoxically, rather cozy, despite the clean lines and
spare quantity of furniture and other accoutrements.
