he word "tradition" typically evokes pale or
even somber colors, but tradition, in all its grace and
favor, is a vivacious enterprise in the hands of Baltimore
designer Henry Pinckney Johnson. The motto of the
Diana Vreeland figure from Audrey Hepburn and Fred
Astaire's movie, Funny Face, "Think pink" is applicable
here, for that color, in its deepest incarnation, is present
in even the most formal public rooms of this elegant
